AutoExec Summary
We anticipated the i30 Sedan would arrive in Australia as a hybrid, and with its arrival confirmed, we tested one both in town and on US highways. Hyundai has excelled in the Aussie market over the past decade, with every model gaining traction from launch due to compelling value, a strong warranty, and affordable servicing. The i30 Sedan has impressed since its Australian debut, offering space and practicality. The US received a hybrid version in 2021, making us wonder why not Australia? Given the popularity of hybrids, it makes sense for Hyundai to join in. The 2024 Hyundai i30 Sedan Hybrid is coming, and our US test drive showed it to be efficient and fun to drive. With a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, it offers 104kW and 264Nm, and achieved 4.7L/100km in our tests. It’s spacious, comfortable, and unexpectedly enjoyable to drive.
