Volkswagen is set to launch a faster, more powerful ID. Buzz GTX on March 21. The electric van-based people mover will offer high performance comparable to hot hatches. The GTX version has been in development for over 18 months and will be unveiled at VW’s commercial arm’s annual press conference. Expect features like a lower sports suspension, larger alloy wheels, and enhanced aerodynamics. The ID. Buzz GTX will use dual-motor powertrains from the ID.4 and ID.5 GTX models, providing all-wheel drive with 250kW and 460Nm of torque. With an 81-91kWh battery, it could have a range of up to 450km and go from 0-100km/h in under six seconds. Volkswagen Australia may position it as a replacement for the Passat R-Line 206 TSI wagon and draw buyers from the discontinued Golf R wagon. The ID. Buzz GTX is rumored to be available in early 2025 after the late 2024 launch of the ID.Buzz.
