AutoExec Summary
If you’re surprised by the price increase of the new Porsche Macan EV compared to its ICE predecessor, here’s the good news/bad news.
The good news is a cheaper entry-level variant of the new Macan is on the way. The bad news? It will still be more expensive than the current Macan’s starting price.
Only two dual motor models will be available in the Macan EV range launching in Australia later this year – the $133,700 Macan 4 and the $180,100 Macan Turbo. All prices exclude on-road costs.
The old Macan ICE models started at $93,800 and went up to $141,700 plus on-road costs, making the entry point increase by $39,900.
Porsche is also expected to introduce a battery-powered Macan GTS, adding more punch and dynamics below the Turbo’s price and thrust level.
Brands mentioned: Porsche, Tesla.
