AutoExec Summary
Volkswagen’s upcoming Scalable Systems Platform (SSP) and electrical architecture delays will push back the launch of the next-generation Golf, as well as the all-electric ID. Golf and T-Sport SUV. The delay may also impact some Audi models. The decision to postpone the SSP launch was made in July, with software issues being blamed. Volkswagen is reportedly developing the MEB+ platform to keep current EVs up-to-date until SSP’s arrival. The SSP vehicles are set to use the E3 2.0 architecture developed by Cariad, which is behind schedule. The upcoming electric Golf will be among the longest lifecycle for the nameplate.

Brands mentioned: Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Cupra, Ford, Rivian.
