MG’s next-generation mid-sized SUV will arrive in Australian showrooms in September, but plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models won’t be available until the first half of 2025. The current MG HS Plus EV is still in stock and should last until year-end. MG Motor Australia hasn’t released powertrain specs for the new HS lineup, but in the UK, the PHEV features a 105kW 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 154kW electric motor, and a 24.7kWh battery. Its claimed electric range is 121km. Petrol models will have a 125kW/275Nm 1.5-litre four and a turbo 2.0-litre four. The HS boasts increased dimensions, dual 12.3-inch displays, and extensive safety features.
