Australia’s third best-selling electric vehicle, the BYD Seal, was recently seen undergoing testing on Chinese roads in preparation for an upcoming unveiling later this year. The updated Seal, rumored to be renamed Seal 07 in China, will feature an improved “intelligent driving system” and an 800V platform with LiDAR technology. The sedan is expected to offer a driving range of 510km to 650km, powered by 62.4kWh and 80.4kWh ‘Blade’ batteries. The vehicle will also come with rear- or all-wheel drive options and top speeds of 220km/h to 240km/h. Despite the anticipation surrounding its launch, BYD’s Australian distributor, EVDirect, has not confirmed if the new Seal will be available in Australia.
