Recall wrap: 63,000 BMW cars require Takata airbag replacement

BMW Australia has issued a recall for over 47,000 vehicles from its ‘F series’ portfolio produced between 2009 and 2017 due to potentially lethal Takata airbag inflators. The affected models include the BMW 5 Series, 1 Series, 3 Series, 4 Series, X5, and X6. A similar recall has been issued for ‘E series’ models produced between 2004 and 2014. Additionally, a fire risk has been found in the first-generation Kia Niro, and a non-compliant jack rod has been identified in the GWM Tank 300 HEV. GWM Australia will replace the jack rod for affected customers. All affected vehicles can be identified through the VIN list attached to the recall notices.
