AutoExec Summary
The new VW ID. Buzz GTX is set to arrive in Australia in the second quarter of 2025, offering more power than a Volkswagen Golf R, all-wheel-drive, and seating for up to seven. This electric people mover is a modern take on the classic VW Kombi and will be the performance flagship in the ID. Buzz range. With a front electric motor providing 80kW/134Nm and a rear motor adding 210kW/560Nm, the GTX boasts a GTI-bashing 250kW and can go from 0-100km/h in just over six seconds. The ID. Buzz will join Volkswagen’s lineup of EVs in Australia, with the medium SUVs ID. 4 Pro and ID. 5 GTX arriving in December. Prices for these EVs have not been announced, but the ID. Buzz is generating the most buzz as the Kombi’s spiritual successor with an electric heart. The five and seven seat single motor rear-wheel-drive versions are set to arrive first, followed by the ID. Buzz Cargo models. In the third quarter of 2025, an all-new VW Transporter will also be offered as a plug-in hybrid and full electric van. Volkswagen Australia is working on pricing for its future fleet of EVs, with the ID. Buzz GTX expected to be a high-end offering with unique features such as GTX bumpers, 20-inch alloys, LED matrix headlights, a large touchscreen, and ChatGTP integration.
