AutoExec Summary
Ram will no longer produce the older DS-series 1500 pickup truck in Australia, with only 26 units remaining in dealer stock. The DS-series model is known as the 1500 Classic in the US and will continue sales there until 2025. The newer DT-series model has been updated with a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, replacing the venerable Hemi V8. The updated 1500 will not offer a V8 engine, similar to the trend seen in other pickups like the Toyota Tundra. Ram is also introducing the 1500 REV, a fully electric pickup to compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning. Despite being the top seller in its segment in Australia, Ram faces increasing competition from Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150.

Brands mentioned: Ram, Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet.
