Last month, the Toyota RAV4 surpassed the utes to become Australia’s top-selling vehicle with 5933 sales. The Ford Ranger (4915) and Toyota HiLux (4747) followed behind the RAV4, with Toyota leading in overall sales once again. July saw a record-breaking 99,486 registrations, up 2.7% from last year. Hybrid sales increased by 88.4%, with plug-in hybrid sales up by 128.9%. Despite economic challenges, Toyota maintained its lead with 22,705 sales and a 22.8% market share. Ford and Mazda had a close battle for second place, with Ford narrowly ahead year-to-date. Other popular brands included Kia, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Isuzu, MG, Nissan, and Subaru. The top-selling models were the Toyota RAV4, Ford Ranger, and Toyota HiLux.
