BMW’s upcoming eighth-generation 5 Series will include the new electric i5, arriving in Australian showrooms in 2024. The i5 will compete with the Audi A6 E-Tron, Mercedes-Benz EQE, and Porsche Taycan. It offers a 440kW dual-motor four-wheel-drive or a 250kW single-motor rear-wheel-drive, with the latter boasting a range of up to 582km. The i5, internally known as G60, will be BMW’s eighth electric model. It shares its bodywork with the 5 Series and features unique design elements.
