AutoExec Summary
The aviation division of Chinese car-maker Xpeng has unveiled plans for a six-wheel SUV inspired by the Tesla Cybertruck, capable of launching a small aircraft from its rear compartment. Dubbed the ‘Land Aircraft Carrier’, Xpeng designed the large SUV for emergency service providers in tough terrain like mountain rescues. The SUV’s Cybertruck-esque design closely resembles Tesla’s electric pick-up, with flat sides, angular panels, and an unpainted steel finish. Unlike the Cybertruck, Xpeng’s SUV is a hybrid, relying on a petrol engine for operation in dangerous conditions. The rear hatch stores a helicopter-style ‘flying car’ that can be deployed from the cargo area. The Land Aircraft Carrier is currently a concept but may join Xpeng’s lineup in China, which includes the G6 electric SUV and other models developed in partnership with Volkswagen.
Brands mentioned: Xpeng, Tesla, Volkswagen.
