Forza Italia: Electric Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce muscles up to battle new breed of EV hot hatches
AutoExec Summary
The 2025 Alfa Romeo Junior, an all-electric vehicle, will introduce a new Veloce variant with increased power to compete with other battery-powered hot hatchbacks like the Alpine A290, Abarth 500e, and Cupra Born. The Veloce variant will boost power from 177kW to over 207kW. The vehicle will maintain its front-wheel drive and will feature a 207kW/345Nm e-motor with a Torsen limited-slip differential. Alfa engineers have modified the chassis tune, including bespoke springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars, to handle the extra performance. The Veloce will also come with a performance brake pack and a faster 14.5:1 steering ratio for enhanced agility. The Alfa Romeo Junior is expected to arrive in Australia in the first half of 2025.
