ANCAP van assessment brings positive results

For the first time, ANCAP has tested electric commercial vans for active safety performance, previously focusing on internal combustion engine models. The growing electric van market includes LDV, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Renault, and Peugeot. In the latest round of testing, the LDV eDeliver 7 scored 77% and the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter and eVito achieved 89% and 90% respectively, with high scores for active safety systems. The Ford Transit Custom set a new record with a 96% score. ANCAP’s testing now includes active safety features but not destructive crash tests. Enhanced safety models are expected in Australia and New Zealand soon.
