AutoExec Summary
Audi has developed a technology, Green Light Optimised Speed Advisory (GLOSA), that advises drivers on the speed needed to reach the next traffic light at the right time to avoid the red. This technology communicates with the local traffic light infrastructure and uses the car’s speed, local speed limits, and position data to recommend the correct speed. Audi has rolled out the technology in 13 American cities with further expansion possible in the future. Volkswagen is also working on similar tech, and Ford is trialling a more advanced system that allows cars to run red lights and roll past stop signs.
