FCAI’s Electric Vehicle pivot: Genuine policy shift or political window dressing?

The FCAI's submission to Treasury's Electric Car Discount review appears to support the NVES and extend an olive branch to Polestar and Tesla. In reality, it's a masterclass in obfuscation and blame-shifting that will infuriate the offside EV pure plays.

But with pure EV brands Polestar and Tesla still firmly outside the tent, a growing wave of Chinese newcomers reshaping the market, and legacy members under increasing pressure from tightening emissions targets, the question isn't just what the FCAI is saying about electric vehicles — it's whether it still has the authority to say it.
