How can we help?

Membership, account management, features, and policies — everything you need to know about TheAutoExec.

Getting started

TheAutoExec is Australia's daily intelligence briefing for automotive professionals. Every weekday morning at 6am, our editorial team delivers the 6–10 articles that matter most from over 60 global sources — curated by industry veterans, not algorithms.

Beyond the daily briefing, members get access to exclusive Inside Line journalism, executive summaries, brand homepages, member discussions, and our Deep Research intelligence tools.

Visit our membership page and choose the tier that's right for you. Free membership gives you the daily briefing and headlines. Gold and Platinum memberships unlock additional features. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time.

TAE Daily Briefing is published Monday to Friday and delivered at 6:00am AEST. Top Stories from the newsletter also appear on the website from 7am.

Keyword alerts

Keyword alerts are a personalised email service for Platinum and Platinum Plus members. Set up to three keywords you care about, and we will email you every article we publish that matches — twice a day, every day.

At 12pm and 6pm AEST every day, we scan every article published since your last alert and match them against the keywords stored in your profile. If any new articles match, you receive an email listing them — grouped by the keyword they match, newest first within each group. If nothing new matches, you don\'t get an email. We respect your inbox.

Keyword alerts are a Platinum and Platinum Plus member benefit. If you are on the Gold tier and want to use keyword alerts, you will need to upgrade your membership.

Go to the Keyword Alerts section on your account page. Enter up to three keywords or keyword phrases. Save, and the service is active – your next alert email will fire at the next 12pm or 6pm AEST scan, whichever comes first.

We match your keyword against the full text of every article – the headline, the editorial summary, and the original source article body. Matching is case-insensitive, so "Ford" and "ford" are the same keyword.

Single-word keyword – matches anywhere the word appears. "Polestar" matches "Polestar 3 launches in Australia" or "Used Polestars dominate resale charts".

Multi-word keyword – all words must be present in the article, but they don\'t have to appear next to each other or in the same order. "Ford Ranger" matches "Ford unveils new Ranger hybrid" and "The Ranger gets a Ford-tuned chassis". This is intentional – it catches coverage you would otherwise miss if we forced exact phrase matching.

Yes, at any time from your account page. Changes take effect immediately – the next 12pm or 6pm AEST scan will use your updated keywords.

If your keywords return zero matches for 72 hours straight, we send you a one-off "your keywords are quiet" email with a list of tags that have been actively covered on TheAutoExec over the past 30 days – weighted toward tags that share words with your keywords. This is our way of flagging that your monitoring might benefit from refinement, without bombarding you. The reminder fires at most once every three days even if the silence continues.

Remove your keywords on the account page. With no keywords stored, you won\'t receive any keyword alert emails. Your membership and all other benefits are unaffected.

Be specific where it matters. "Battery" will match dozens of articles a day; "solid-state battery" narrows it dramatically. Use one of your three slots for a broad interest, one for a specific product or term, one for a competitor or company you track.

Think like an editor, not a search engine. We are matching against real editorial content. Phrases like "NVES" or "agency model" or "Euro 7" will reliably catch industry coverage. Phrases like "good car" won\'t.

Review quarterly. Your interests shift. A keyword that was relevant at launch time may be noise six months later. Use the "your keywords are quiet" email as a prompt to reconsider.

Member discussions

Member discussions are available to Gold, Platinum, and Platinum Plus members. Discussions appear on Inside Line articles, Top Stories, and Opinion pieces. Free members cannot read or participate in discussions.

Yes. You can set a pen name in your account settings under Profile. Your pen name is the default display — your real name is only shown if you haven't set one. You can change your pen name at any time, and the change applies retroactively to all your past contributions.

TheAutoExec discussions are a professional forum. We expect all members to engage respectfully and constructively. We reserve the right to remove content that is abusive, defamatory, off-topic, or promotional, and to suspend discussion privileges for members who violate these standards.

Content & copyright

TheAutoExec indexes articles from over 60 automotive publishers to help you find what matters. Here's how we handle source content and credit the journalists who create it.

TheAutoExec indexes articles from over 60 automotive publishers across Australia and the world. For every article, we store the full original text internally so our search can find it — but we never republish the full text on our site. What you see is our own editorial summary: a short headline description, and for Gold members and above, a longer executive summary written by our team.

The original article always lives with the publisher. Every summary links back to the source, and every brand homepage credits the publishers whose content appears.

Our search indexes the full text of every source article, not just the short summary we publish. That means a search for "ANCAP rating" will find articles that discuss ANCAP ratings in detail — even if our summary doesn't happen to use those exact words. The match is real: if you click through to the source article, you'll find your search term in the original publisher's content.

No — and that's deliberate. Each article summary has a "Read original" link that takes you to the publisher's own site, where you should read the full piece. We drive traffic to publishers rather than compete with them. Our job is to help you decide what's worth reading, not to replace the journalists doing the work.

We take content concerns seriously. If you're a publisher, journalist, or rights holder and believe your content has been indexed, summarised, or attributed incorrectly, please contact us at contact@theautoexec.com with the URL(s) in question and the nature of your concern. We aim to respond within one business day.

Removal requests are honoured promptly — no legal arguments, no delay. We value the content creator ecosystem we depend on and want to be a constructive part of it.
